I'm told release 12.2 is in beta at the moment.

Personally I'd go for 12.1.0.2 rather than wait for 13.x.x.x

I don't know how many times I've heard someone say "I won't upgrade now, there is another release coming soon" followed by "I won't upgrade now, the first version is always buggy".

I have found the upgrades to 12.1.0.1 and then 12.1.0.2 to be very good. No reason to hesitate.

Exactly, John. And upgrades come with the territory. They should be seen as routine, not as out of the ordinary.
