Hi ,

I have a problem with BI Discoverer Desktop when attempting to connect with Oracle Application user ( we have EBS R12 )
I got the bellow Error :

Unable to connect to abdo2203@PROD
Failed to connect database - unable to connect to Oracle Application database : Invalid username/password

However , I can connect with APPS user when uncheck 'Oracle Application User' .

Someone Help Please

Hi Black Swan ,
May you are right , i have capitalized user name letters and the message changed
Unable to connect ABDO2203@DEV
Failed to connect to database - ORA-12537 :TNS : Connection closed

Can you explain what you are doing n more detail? I am not clear on whether you are getting errors when connecting s a database user (such as APPS or SYSTEM) or as an EBS application user. Also, how are you connecting? Are connecting through a client-side tool such as the Discover Desktop or SQL*Plus, or through the application server middle tier?

My apologies, I missed the fact that you are using the Discoverer Desktop. You may be hitting a normal security issue: by default, your database listener will be configured to accept only connections from the application server node. You may need to ask your DBA to to adjust the tcp.validnode_checking configuration.
