Hi,

can anyone brief me the difference between disabling the automatic statistics collection and locking the statistics.

Scenario 1:
Imagine I disabled the automatic statistics gathering for whole db and consider now I am collecting the statistics for the table manually. After collecting the statistics if I am not locking the statistics. Will it keep updating, eventhough I disabled the auto stats gathering?

Why I am asking is document says, statistics will keep updated if we are not locking the stats gathering, is it?

With Regards
Boo

If you disable auto gathering, statistics are not automatically updated.
If you lock statistics, they are no more auto gathered.
