Hi,
One of the production servers (9.2.0.5.0) is supposedly suffering from a memory leakage issue. This was identified by the DBAs of the company who provide the application. They have also suggested that the database be upgraded to 9.2.0.8.
The question is, what are the symptoms that one should look for when there is actually a memory leakeage? And is there any chance of salvaging any performance improvements by bouncing the DB daily?
The server hosts 3 other databases as well. But the larget database is about 100+ GB in size is the one that we are having problems with.

One of the major issues that we were having a few weeks ago was that the DB used to go down with shutdown abort. This was specifically more during the time when the RMAN backups were running on the server along with the batch jobs that were running on the database.
The batch jobs seem to doing quite a bit of write operations on the database as 95% of the archive logs generated in the day.
You are right about the shutdown abort. That keeps happening quite frequently. The clients are mad about it, but dont seem to be doing anything to upgrade the database to 9.2.0.8?
Are there any short term solutions to fix the Abort shutdowns or minimize the memory leakage?
